Agrihub Inc. group of companies, which includes Penner Farm Services, Western Ag Systems, United Agri Systems, New Standard Ag, and Dundas Agri Systems, is a leading supplier of livestock infrastructure, equipment, technology, and services to farms across western Canada and the northern US. Penner Farm Services was founded in 1956 providing the entire scope of automated equipment for efficient systems management and entering into long-term maintenance contracts for those systems. They quickly evolved to specialise in agriculture including dairy, hog operations, poultry, and grain and coined their slogan “We Build Farms”. Headquartered in Manitoba, the company has a large customer base, especially across western Canada. Over the years they have merged with like-minded agricultural companies to reach into the United States mid-west and as far east as the Ontario-Quebec border. Penner Farm Services affiliations allows for centralized, complete design and turn-key construction of livestock facilities.
Agrihub’s Operating Brands assists farmers in installing all kinds of systems such as feed systems, milking systems, manure management, water management, and power generation. Dan Cloutier, Director of Regenerative Agriculture Solutions shares that “Our expertise with manure management systems is one of the reasons biogas is so complementary to what we do. We are seeing a lot of interest from our livestock operation in biogas as a way to add revenue and implement best practices in manure management.”
Agrihub has recently launched a Regenerative Agriculture division that will be solely focused on sustainability, with biogas seen as a key pillar of that cyclical approach to small, medium, and industrial farming and agriculture. As Dan Cloutier notes succinctly, “We want to create net-zero farms and barns.” They are actively assessing opportunities and strategies for biogas for their hundreds of farm operations clients and are forming partnerships with biogas technology suppliers and developers.
