PRODEVAL has been a pioneer in biogas upgrading for more than a decade, building on over 30 years of experience in gas treatment and environmental solutions. PRODEVAL’s North American headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec and Schaumburg, Illinois, and are supporting a rapidly growing footprint that includes 26 active projects across the U.S. and Canada.
PRODEVAL provides advanced technologies for RNG production at biogas sites processing agricultural waste, industrial waste, wastewater sludge, and recently landfill gas. At the heart of PRODEVAL’s offering is its VALOPUR® line of membrane-based upgrading systems. This technology that has become the go-to solution in Europe, where membranes represent more than 80% of biogas upgrading installations. PRODEVAL also designs and manufactures PSA-based solutions as part of expanding its portfolio for diverse project needs.
Beyond upgrading, PRODEVAL delivers complementary technologies that help close the loop on emissions and energy use. Its BioCO₂ liquefaction systems transform tail gas into ‘food-grade’ and ‘industrial-grade’ CO₂, creating valuable new revenue streams. In Europe, PRODEVAL has also developed CNG refueling stations for agricultural and municipal fleets, supporting broader decarbonization efforts.

From design and engineering through manufacturing, installation oversight, commissioning, and long-term maintenance, PRODEVAL supports every stage of a project’s lifecycle. This full-service approach reflects its roots in serving farmers and operators who require reliable equipment over 15–20 years of operation.
PRODEVAL stands apart through a combination of innovation, scalability, and customer focus. Its industrialized manufacturing ensures consistent quality and faster delivery. Modular, containerized designs reduce on-site complexity, while full automation, real-time monitoring, and proprietary AI-driven software help operators make data-informed decisions. Flexible solutions adapt to evolving project requirements, limiting capital expenditure while maximizing RNG output. Local support teams and preventive maintenance programs provide long-term reliability and peace of mind.
In North America, two standout Western Canadian projects highlight PRODEVAL’s impact. These include the Dicklands Biogas project in Chilliwack, BC, which has been injecting RNG into FortisBC’s network since April 2023 and avoids 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually and GrowTEC in Alberta, which has been converting manure and spoiled potatoes into pipeline-quality RNG since June 2023. PRODEVAL is now expanding its presence in Eastern Canada, supporting farmers and developers in the growing food-waste-to-energy sector.
On the outlook for biogas, PRODEVAL shares that the North American biogas market is entering a new chapter focused on optimization and long-term stability. While incentives continue to support growth, developers and investors are increasingly prioritizing risk management and data-driven performance. Agricultural and food-waste projects remain especially strong due to methane reduction mandates and landfill diversion policies. Quebec is emerging as a leader, with clear incentives and supportive provincial programs accelerating project development. As challenges such as permitting delays and interconnection backlogs persist, PRODEVAL sees innovation, modular design, and digital performance management as essential tools for sustainable scaling.
PRODEVAL joined the Canadian Biogas Association to contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking community working to advance biogas and RNG across Canada. The CBA provides a vital platform for connection, advocacy, and shared learning which aligns with PRODEVAL’s mission to help build a cleaner, more circular energy future.
