The Value of Biogas West Conference hosted on November 9-10 was the Canadian Biogas Association’s return to in-person conferences. After over 18 months of virtual events, the connection of meeting face-to-face was eagerly anticipated, surreal and powerful. Two full days of programming, the conference included informative sessions delivered by industry experts, the largest exhibitor showcase in the history of Value of Biogas, and extensive in-person networking opportunities that notably surpassed the lapse of time we’ve had to gather together.
“I’ve met more people in the first half hour of the conference than I’ve met in 18 months.”
The Value of Biogas West Conference kicked off with a challenge – how to grow Canadian biogas and RNG into the next decade. Sessions covered every element of the biogas industry that will be crucial to achieve this growth. This includes how policy drivers and market forces are shaping biogas and RNG, the importance of feedstock pre-treatment, and case studies. How to improve delivery models for municipal biogas and RNG development, environmental and economic benefits of biogas, RNG in British Columbia and the GGRR, and the importance of RNG branding. The event was rounded out with topics discussing how the industry must adapt to climate change and uncertainty, and the power of date collection and analysis.
“In 5 minutes, I was able to speak with two people I was looking for, which otherwise would have taken me months of emails and phone calls to connect”
“This conference has been fantastic, thank you so much, I will see you in Toronto in April!”
