From October 16-18, 2023, the Value of Biogas West Conference hosted by the Canadian Biogas Association saw more record-breaking attendence. Day 1 began with a tour of SkyMar Biogas in Lethbridge, AB, where 60 attendees were able to visit the site and learn more about biogas & RNG in Alberta. The day concluded with a Members Only Networking Reception, where more than 125 employees of member organizations raising a glass and discussing their experience in the industry.
Day 2 of the conference began with opening remarks from the CBA's Executive Director, Jennifer Green. Throughout the day, speakers shared information about upcoming projects, the Green Municipal Fund and retrofitting older designs. Attendees were also given introductions to the more than 50 exhibitors on hand and a Networking Reception ended the day on a high note.
For Day 3, remarks were provided by Minister Rebecca Schulz of Environment and Protected Areas for Alberta. Other topics up for discussion included carbon markets, book and claim considerations and the social acceptability of biogas.
