2018 Value of Biogas

Save the date for the Canadian Biogas Association’s exciting and informative annual Value of Biogas conferences. Value of Biogas WEST will take place in Abbotsford, BC on January 16th and 17th, and Value of Biogas EAST will be in Ottawa/Gatineau in March (date TBD). Value of Biogas WEST and EAST are Canada’s Premier Biogas and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Conferences, and the best way to connect with the industry network.

Call for Abstracts

Potential presenters for the Canadian Biogas Association’s Value of Biogas WEST and EAST conferences are invited to submit biogas and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) presentation abstracts to be considered for either or both conferences. For those submitting an abstract, it is strongly recommended to focus on one of the topics below, which are the intended focus of the conferences. However, abstracts with a different focus will be considered. Please submit your abstract by September 15th, 2017. Please see below regarding abstract applications.

Please note: Presentations are intended to be informative to the attendees and not a “sales pitch”.

Conference Topics Example Topic Areas
Agricultural, Industrial, Municipal, Landfill, or Wastewater Biogas/RNG
  • Challenges and opportunities for biogas/RNG production;
  • Innovations and developments related to scale, location, feedstock, etc.; or
  • Experience, updates, or lessons learned.
Case Studies
  • Agricultural, municipal, industrial, landfill, or wastewater biogas/RNG projects from Canada or around the world.
Economics of Biogas/RNG
  • The economics of biogas/RNG production.
Feedstock Pretreatment or Materials Handling
  • Challenges and opportunities for the biogas/RNG sector; or
  • Technology developments, innovations, experiences, etc.
Government Policy
  • Impacts of government policy on the biogas/RNG sector;
  • Experience or recommendations from government policy abroad; or
  • Biogas, RNG, electricity, organic material management, environmental regulations, carbon pricing, etc.
Research and Development
  • Biogas/RNG research and development to drive technology innovation.
RNG, Combined Heat & Power, or Nutrient Management
  • Potential, opportunities, and/or barriers;
  • Best practices and lessons learned; or
  • Technology assessments, innovations, challenges, etc.
