The Value of Biogas Conference & Forum in Toronto spanned two days, with a Biogas Operators’ Forum on March 22, followed by the Canadian Biogas Association AGM, and election of our new Board of Directors. The operators shared experiences and challenges related to feedstock, foaming and other issues, both onstage, and in small groups with defined topics and questions.
On March 23, the conference included a full agenda featuring two streams – one geared toward municipalities, and the other focused on the agricultural sector. The content included sector analysis, latest developments related to policy, research, and technology, and our first ever national panel commenting on the state of the biogas sector and its future. Overall highlights:
The event culminated with remarks from Ontario’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change Glen Murray, and Ontario Environmental Commissioner Dianne Saxe, who commented on the role of the biogas sector as the Ontario economy shifts to lower carbon intensity.
Delegates appreciated the many networking opportunities over the two days, as Value of Biogas is the industry’s focal point event for the year.
